Who Am I

Johnny here…I’ve been on a constant mission to get in shape for a majority of my adult life. This blog will detail my current efforts. I am currently studying Kung Fu, kickboxing, and a workout called Crossfit.

Kung Fu gives me focus and agility and helps me practice flexibility, form, and self defense. I currently graduated ranks to Green Sash, having completed intro, white, yellow, and orange levels.  Kickboxing is a wonderful interval type cardio workout, and hey, it feels good to throw some punches once in a while. Crossfit is a fast-paced weighted and body-weight routine designed to work you out hard and fast and efficiently using functional movements you use in your daily life. Lastly I’m trying to round it all out with morning Hatha Yoga several days a week to assure I’m resting my mind, learning to balance, and becoming as flexible and limber as possible.

Now if I could cut out the margaritas and burritos…

I’m not a doctor, trainer, or a nutritionist.  You should do your own research to see if you agree with my opinions.  That said, I’m pretty obsessed with constant learning about health and fitness as well as some budget and finance issues.  I read a lot and re-evaluate as much as I can, as often as possible.  Check in often as I chronicle my progress in all these areas of my life and learn to, as they say, cut the fat.
