At this point, I’m only down about 1.5 lbs from last sunday. This falls inline with what is considered healthy and average for a week’s progress. The number is a little annoying considering I’d been lower this week and am finishing out higher than hoped. That’s OK though. The gain started with the night out at Chilis. Since then, I’ve eaten three meals out, most detailed here, the last of which was last night at an Italian restaurant. I had a huge tomato salad and a grilled chicken breast and did great though again was worried about excess of oil and salt. I really think there’s a huge difference between my home prepared food and that I order our so this week and so I will attempt to minimize my restaurant meals.
One of the reasons for writing these updates for all of you to see was that I’d hoped that by doing so, you could see, that even with hard work, you will always see fluctuations in weight that are frustrating. I am working pretty damn hard here and have lost since last week, but I’m also up nearly 2 lbs from just a few days ago. It’s hard not to obsess over this but I must stress that any change that is going to be effective and long term, is going to need to be a regular habit and not just a 4-6 week fad, so to that end, I’m going to let go of that frustration and keep at it. Besides, my energy is incredible and I feel 100% better eating right and staying active than I did back in January.
Either way, week over week, it’s still progress. I can’t wait until I’m up to full speed with my workouts which should be shortly. Right now I’m doing two fundamental classes a week at Crossfit but beginning next week will be switching to 3 full sessions a week, 2 back-to-back kung fu and kickboxing classes, and 2 days rest.
